How should I use Complement Protein?
We designed Complement Protein to be versatile - meaning you can add it to a smoothie, mix it with plant milk or other drink, or even use it for baking! (Please share whatever you create with it by tagging us on IG @LoveComplement :)
Does it contain any allergens?
Complement Protein is soy-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free! (And obviously, free of any other animal-based ingredients.) It does contain peas and almonds , which some people may be sensitive to.
Is it certified organic?
YES! All the individual ingredients are fully organic and we're happy to announce that we were able to complete the organic certification for the Complement Protein in time for the first batch as well!
Is Complement Protein made from whole foods?
Complement Protein is made from USDA certified 100% organic ingredients, which are ground into a fine powder. Some of these are “protein isolates”. While we always prefer “whole foods”, it is necessary for us to include isolates to ensure that we deliver the ideal texture and protein quantity in a small serving (three tablespoons).
How does it taste?
Complement Protein does NOT contain any flavors, natural or artificial, nor any sweeteners — it is a neutral blend of complete plant protein. We believe that makes it the cleanest, most versatile option — and allows you to mix it with whatever whole food ingredient tastes best to you.
I heard that organic plant protein powders have the highest levels of heavy metals. Is this true?
Heavy Metals are a natural part of our environment and, unfortunately, because they exist in the Earth’s soil, they end up in organic fruits and vegetables. Some recent research seems to indicate that many vegan protein powders contain high levels of heavy metals, like lead, cadmium, and arsenic. That’s one of the reasons we created Complement Protein -- so we could be absolutely sure that it exceeds the stringent California Prop 65 standards, which are up to 1,000 times lower than levels still deemed safe by the FDA. We only create products that we are comfortable giving our young children, so we go beyond even what government entities suggest to ensure safety.
Does Complement Protein ship internationally?
Yes! Complement Protein is available to order in Canada, the EU, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Let us know if your country is missing from the list, so we can check the shipping costs for you. (And please keep in mind that international orders may incur extra import fees at delivery. This is country-specific, and out of our control. There's very little we can do to assist with packages lost or detained by customs.)
